Introduction

We've put together several sample golf tours covering the island of Ireland. The majority of our golf tours differ in minor ways and we are happy to customize each one to tailor made specifications.

Many people view Ireland as a small island and although there's some truth behind that it's best you consider some of the following facts when planning your tour:

  • Ireland is made up of four provinces
  • Shannon Airport and Dublin Airport handle Trans Atlantic and indeed most of the international flights in/out of Ireland.
  • Ireland's terrain is mostly agricultural and highways/motorways are still being built. It takes 4-5 hours to drive from most east coast areas to the west coast.
  • The best golf courses in the world are not all beside one another! It is not unusual on a golf tour to drive up to 90 minutes each way to reach a course. Of course along the way to the links we show you the sights and scenery of Ireland and perhaps a pub or three!

Keeping this in mind, when you review our sample tours, understand that each one works according to location and topography. There are some options for hybrid golf tours – especially for longer stays.

To really experience the best courses in Ireland would take 2-3 weeks. Therefore most clients will chose an area to focus on for their initial Irish golf experience. At the end of each golf tour our clients are already planning their next!

The most popular tours are those taking in the South West of Ireland and North of Ireland (Royal County Down, Royal Portrush including some of the Dublin ones – Portmarnock and The European Club to name but a few.

Our website offers a profile of each of the premier golf courses in Ireland. They have been selected for various reasons – Mostly historical links courses such as Lahinch, Ballybunion and so on, but also newer championship courses such as Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort. Using the golf map on this website you can get some background information on the courses we profile. The sample tours (listed right) all provide some insight into the best courses to consider for a regional tour.

We've alliances with over 200 nationwide tried and tested golfer friendly accommodation providers. These include all classes of hotels, castles, country houses, farmhouses and guest lodges. As every tour can be customized we can create your golf tour with combination accommodations or specific to your exact preferences. We've personally visited each accommodation provider and are happy to put our names behind golf tours featuring such establishments.

Remember, Links Golf Ireland a unique tour operator in that we own the transport used on our tours. This offers peace of mind to our clients in knowing that their visit to Ireland is in the hands of one tour operator instead of a multitude of sub contractors.

Our tours are different, lots of attention to detail, careful planning and happy clients. The backup of a strong parent company (Emerald Elite Group) keeps us innovative and leading the way in golf travel. We deliver on what we promise over and over again.

We look forwards to receiving your enquiry.
